I have put shortly together our discussions in IBH.
Here are the main points.



	Interactive Background Handling (IBH)



                      Basic idea

Interactive background tool  is  a graphical user interface  to
background determination.  User can select indenpendently spectral shape,
spatial distribution and scaling factors  and combine selections to
desired background model. This tool overrides standard background model tool and
new models are replaced to the particular science window.

Optional feature is to add new  models to the background catalogues  using
existing catalogue models, source removal executable etc.





Basic Features:


- interactively select model information from the background database.
	- user can choose different spatial and spectral background models
  	  freely or by given parameters: orbit, attitude, sun angle and
          radiation level.

- visualize these models in various ways:
	    - color coded spatial shadowgram model or/and
	    - 3D plot spatial shadowram (Can be done by root)

	    - color coded hardness spectrum map over detector
	    - plot spectra from a specified section of the detector
	      Q. How we do selection in practice ??


- substract models from existing shadowgrams and spectras
	    - Visualize originals and results


- save results and/or make a recursively selections
	       - make an own database


Optional features:


- add new models to the database by different methods.
      - simulations
      - use source removal executables/blank field observations etc.




Question:

When user makes own models and thinks the models are better than what we
have in our database it could be reasonable that they could be added in ISDC
database. Problem is how to do that. Peter any suggestions?
