Gain Notes for Revolution 729 JEM-X1: The first points on the gain history table ofthis revolution are complete rubbish, due to some telemetry error or lack of data in the first integration periods. For this reason an IC gain history table, which will be delivered to ISDC soon, must be used to process this data. The gain smoothing simply doesn't work correctly with the automatically produced gain history table. The results presented here are those made with the version of JCorGain in OSA7.0, using the automatically produced ISDC gain history table. The wild variation of the Xe line throughout the revolution is an indication that the gain smoothing procedure has failed to a certain extent. However except for the first few SCWs, which should always be avoided since this is the instrument warmup period, all the gain correction is within about 4% of the ideal and data could well be used as is for applications not requiring accurate energy values. JEM-X2: No scientific data or gain history data for this unit. CAO 31/10/2008
