Gain Notes for Revolution 102 JEM-X1: A Crab calibration revolution with fine gain smoothing. All the data from this revolution should be useable. The short breaks at the gain history table in no way affect the gain smoothing or the gain correction for this revolution. The first seven points on each curve are the partial switch on of the high voltage supply (HV) to the plate, for which HV is set 3 steps below its nominal value to protect the instrument from intial high gain. A couple of fine glitches on the Cd source 2 (yellow) JEM-X2: A quite normal revolution with fine gain fitting. All the data from this revolution should be useable. First few points on each curve belong to the partial switch-on for which HV is set 3 steps below its nominal value. The Xenon line analysis clearly shows that apart from the first 2 SCWs in the revolution, gain correction has worked well and the Xe line is almost exactly where is should be. However, users should be cautious about over-interpreting energy changes seen in the first two science windows.
