> Hi Stefan! END
<larsson> Hi. END
<njw> Stefan, before the others arrive. In one of your latest mail you say that
<njw> the information that you'd like to get is about the pixels that are not

<silvia> Hi all ! Sorry for the dealy !

<njw> Hello Silvia END
<larsson> Well. I need to no that they are not active, which I dont
<silvia> Fine, thanks And you ? I am organising my next trip top Geneva, I have just picked up the flight ticket ! END
<larsson> if there are no events on them telling me that. END

<peter> Hi there sorry for the delay - the machine I'm using was refused access.
<peter> Jerome and Sami are still trying ... END
<njw> I'm speculating about how to organize the information in JMXi-DETE-MOD, also

<njw> having some discussions with Carl, but we are not ready yet with a proposal END
> Has anyone heard from Sami since our meeting? END
<peter> Jerome's still here. He'll leave later this afternoon. END

<peter> Yes, I'm here. But I was advising Sami and Jerome on how to connect. END
> Hi Sami! Looks like we've got a full house - let's get started.
> First gain correction - perhaps this discussion should also include a bit
> about the new 16-bit STATUS flag: I'd like to address Peter's suggestion that

> Hi Jerome! I'm just starting on the STATUS flag values.
<jerome> Hello everybody! Better late than never.
> If everyone uses these defined constants, and we think up some new ones to

> Don't know off the top of my head - let me find out. END
> It's a byte (unsigned char) END
<njw> What is it going to be ? END
<peter> I'd vote for unsigned int, if we use it to hold bit flags. END
> Unsigned short
> END
<smaisala> I agree. END
<peter> You are right unsigned short
<larsson> OK Fine. END
> Deciding an order of importance for the various problems might be tricky

<peter> OK: Action on me, NJW and SL to settle a scheme - due very soom: when? END
<larsson> Monday? END
<peter> Carol Anne, when were you planning to redeliver the j_cor_*** executables? END
> Next week I can start working on it. END
<njw> End of next week tehn ? END
<peter> So they would - hopefully - be delivered within the week, right? END
<peter> Two people one thought ...
> Yes, that'll be fine for me. I'm working like a demon on gain fitting - but
<peter> Monday I'm in Zuerich, so let's say we have it settled by Tuesday. END
<larsson> Fine. END
> j_cor**** comes right after that. END
> Yes I hope they'll be delivered next week. END
> Any more comments on this one? END
<larsson> No. END
<smaisala> N END
<silvia> No END
<peter> N
> Okay, gain fitting: I'm working like a demon (see above) so it should be
> delivered tomorrow or Monday: I'm well aware that some of you are waiting
> for this to be complete. END
> Also, any questions about the new dead anode finding routine in j_prp_verify?
> END
<njw> N
<peter> N
<silvia> N
> Then that's point one on the agenda complete:
> 2) Imaging: how's it going NJW? END
<njw> j_ima_shadowgram has been delivered with ameliorated selection possibilities
<njw> - and some SPRs killed. That's all for now END
<peter> What about the SPRs on j_ima_basic_recon? END
<njw> They are next in line after Commissioning report, RMF update, and IMOD update END
<peter> OK, I agree with that prioritization :-) END
> So you've got the comissioning report to finish before the RMF update: I think
> our schedules don't clash to much in that case? END
> Any other comments on imaging? END
<larsson> N
<silvia> N
<peter> N
<njw> I'll try to do both in the same time period END
<jerome> N
<njw> N
<smaisala> N
> Okay, point 3: spectra - not alot to say on this one I guess, unless it's
> a technical point that Peter or Stefan want to raise. END
<larsson> I should deliver a new version since there is a number of updates
<larsson> I have made to src_lc which are missing in src_spectra.
<peter> Correct, I was just about to write that - when will I have it? END
<larsson> Also for the two recent bugs (JemX 2 180 degree rotation
<larsson> and the occasional core dumps).
<larsson> I have new versions of both programs ready for delivery,
<larsson> But maybe I should add the update of STATUS flag. Is it corect
<larsson> that the new data type can read the previous one too?
<peter> Yes, there should be no problem there. END
<larsson> I dont know if I should wait for the new Instrument model
<larsson> or is it better deliver now. Peter? END
<njw> Probably better to deliver now END
<larsson> I can deliver today (including the STATUS update) END
<peter> That would be good. END
<larsson> OK I will. END
<silvia> Yes, I think so ! Peter and I need the executable to the deliver the scripts soon (before mid Dec. deadline of ISDC) END
<silvia> all the executables, not only one ! END
<silvia> Am I rigth about the deadline, Peter ? END
<peter> Yes, though as often it seems to a bit fuzzy. END
<silvia> I'd like to deliver the scripts the next week menawhile I am at ISDC !
<silvia> The week after (from 16th to 20th) I can not ! I have the meeting in Barcelona ! END
<peter> Sounds like a very good idea to me. I've now used the new GUI stuff for OMC so we can give it a shot for JEM-X as well. END
<silvia> Good news Peter ! But we really need the new IMA and SPE executables, dont we ? END
<silvia> Beacuse now, we are using "hacked" versions ! END
<silvia> Anyone there ? END
<jerome> I am reading END
<peter> I'd have to check for j_ima_basic_recon - we defintely need the update of j_src_spectra. END
<larsson> I am alive!
<silvia> Thanks guys ! I have not yet take lunch and I wil like to go soon to the cantine to buy something ! END
> Okay, if there's no more on spectra,
<silvia> And the one from j_src_lc, remember the core dunmp !END
> point 4) lightcurves - has this just been finished with the comments above? END
<larsson> Silvia: Both will be delivered today. The core dump should be
<silvia> Thanks a lot Stefan ! PERFECT !!!! GREAT !!!! END
<larsson> fixed. END
<silvia> Yes, I think so ! END
> Any more for LCR and SPEC? END
<larsson> Not from me, unless someone have questions. END
> Next, our favourite: 5) Background handling - how's it going Sami? END
<smaisala> I' just trying furiously create models from rev 05
<smaisala> As you all can imagine it takes more time than expected. END
<jerome> I can confirm the "furiously" !
> yes, the time dilation problem is a well-known physical phenomenon - even
> for my mother who knows no physics! Other comments? END
<smaisala> I send the first model images to you when they are done. END
<silvia> Sami, do you think that rev 5 data are useful ? I mean, those data before losing the anodes !
> Yes, we get stripes and all sorts of rubbish after the dead anode events.
<smaisala> Yes. Actually the data is quite useful. Only problem seems to be gain correction.
<silvia> For instance, rev 13 only contains empty field data and are after the dead anodes ! END
> Does this mean we have to update the background catalogues everytime there's
> a new anode death? END
<silvia> OK Thanks for clarify me this point ! END
<silvia> I do not know ! What do our BKG guys think ? END
<silvia> It seems that not ! END
<larsson> I think we said that the backgr. model should not contain these
<smaisala> I hope not. We will see... END
<larsson> structures? END
<silvia> Me too ! END
<silvia> But, the question is if the BKG behaviours is diferrent when one anode is lost ? And how can then this situation to be handle ? END
<larsson> If we take thoose areas out it will not be critical, if we try to
<peter> My understanding was also that the background model would not track the anodes.
<larsson> model them and use them for imaging etc. it will be more tricky. END
<smaisala> Yes I agree that. Anode problem must be handled as a separate task. END
<silvia> Yes, it is clear that BKG should be independet of the anodes ! But it is possible ? eND
<silvia> It seems that yes ! Then perfect ! END
<larsson> When building final models Sami should probably cut out the same
<larsson> regions that we do in the analysis. END
<silvia> OK. END
> Yes, that seems sensible: we can't have everything being changed every time
> and anode dies: which could be every couple of weeks. END
<silvia> Sami, have you found which data are good for your BKG models ?
<silvia> I can help you, I have just check every ScW of rev 11 to rev 14 ! END
<njw> You can have a look in (DSRI) /r2/jemx/pointings END
<silvia> Yes, you are rigth NJW ! I forgot it ! END
<larsson> Thanks for thoose files NJ, they are very useful!. END
<smaisala> All I need is empty fields with auxiliary information. I mean WITH aux. END
> Any more comments on background handling? END
<silvia> N END
<njw> N
<peter> N
<larsson> N
<jerome> N
> Okay, next: AIs. Apart from Peter, who looked into q_identify_srcs, has anyone
> else done some AIs - I will confess I'm still updating the AI list after last
> week's meeting so maybe some of you are not too sure what you're supposed
> to be doing that isn't ordinary work. If you've done something you know was
> and AI let me know. END
<peter> I've also closed AI24.3
<jerome> Well, after last week meeting I am not sure exactly in which AI I am involved... END
<njw> Carol Anne will make it clear to you, right CAO ? END
> I'll complete the AI list and circulate after this meeting. END
> AI24.3 noted Peter. END
<jerome> Ok, thanks! What about the minutes? When will they be available?
<jerome> END
> Peter's doing the minutes from the meeting, I think END
> I'll put the chat transcript and AI list on the net. END
<peter> The meeting minutes will hopefully be available next Tuesday. END
<jerome> Super!
<njw> Stefan, Jerome and Sami, have you had a look at the new rotation scheme ?
<silvia> Jerome or Niels Joergen : have you told with Hotel des Balances regarding my next stay (arriving on monday 9th and leaving on friday 13th ) ? END
<njw> any problems ? END
<njw> To Silvia: no, not yet, but the DSRI room ought to be there for you END
<larsson> Yes, I have. I am now one week earlier which is a little problem.
<jerome> No. I am sorry, I have not. Now I have left the hotel...
<jerome> I did not I should. END
<larsson> My daughter is moving and I promised to help her on the 2nd January.. END
<silvia> Perfect ! IT is fine ! tomorrow I will be at home, holiday in Spain ! END
<njw> How soon can you go after new year, Stefan ?
<larsson> The 3rd is now problem if that is OK. END
<njw> I think that would be OK, Jerome, Sami, what about you ? END
<jerome> Middle of January is fine with me. END
<silvia> What about the stay betweem Xmas and New year ? Any new information ? Victor is thinking to come in with me to ISDC those dates END
> If you're runnig short of people in late January, I'm willing to do another
<njw> I have no news, Peter ? END
> tour of duty. END
<njw> Carol Anne that is very nice, but Soren is also with us, so let's wait a bit.
<njw> Jerome, Sami, what about you ? END
> That's a relief! END
<jerome> I have answred. OK with me. Or is the question other? END
<peter> From my side there is nothing new: I'll be here Dec 27 (afternoon?) over the New Year. If really needed I could come in every day, so someone would be galdad if that wasn't the case ... END
<silvia> I think Carol Anne you are not really happy with the possibility to work for a week at ISDC ! END
<peter> I'll be absent from ISDC Jan 11-19. END
<smaisala> I really don't know yet. I think the days are ok. END
<njw> Sorry, Jerome, I missed your reply. END
<jerome> No problem!
<jerome> END
<njw> OK, let's settle that. If you get problems please tell me as soon as possible END
> Any other AOB? END
<njw> N
