**** Logging Started : Thu Nov 21 15:02:13 MET 2002
<peter> Hello Carol Anne, Silvia and me were surprised to see you 'arrive' after
 the Real Northerners :-) END
> Hello all - bit of rush on here - the seminar just finished. How are you all?
END
> Really? The men from the Frozen North are with us? Good stuff? ENC
<peter> Shall we begin? What about Jrme?
> Jerome's accouont isn't working properly, so he'll share a computer and screen
> with me. END
> Let's get started END
*** jerome (~jerome@uhuru.dsri.dk) has joined channel #jemxadr
> Here come Jerome now! END
<jerome> Hi everybody!
<smaisala> Hi Jerome ! END
> Could we start with suggestions for agenda items for the meeting next week?
> In this connection I'd like to propose that we keep background to the last
> item on the second day. Perhaps we can reserve the last 2/3 of the second day
> for it. END
<smaisala> I agree. END
<peter> OK.
<peter> My list for the meeting has:
<peter> Image formats - which kinds of images could we / should we create (flux,
 significance, error, ...)
<peter> Gain corrections - what will be implemented to deal with the new
situation?
<peter> IC files - which structures need changing, how, when?
<peter> Scientifc Validation - status, plans?
<peter> END
<peter> So how about you guys? END
<njw> We should also have some info on the energy correction END
<larsson> How to treat the dead anodes in the analysis. END
> These are all good suggestions: what about Sami, Silvia and Jerome - what do
> you want to see discussed? I'll make the agenda tomorrow putting in all your
> suggestions. END
<peter> Maybe we should organize this in groups of large steps and see what
the required changes are.
<peter> Groups could be: Corrections; Background; Imaging; Spectra &
Lightcurves. END
> That sounds good Peter. How long should we spend on backgrounds? END
<jerome> Peter,dDo you mean that we will have an overview of the last changes
in the pipelines?
<jerome> Because I's like to have one... END
<jerome> s=d end
<silvia> I think that the j_scripts are not even low priority for this meeting !
There are too many important issues to discuss ! But if there are time left, I
can report the statuss of the neaarly new version END
<peter> Sure, though there have been very few changes finally, mainly some
bugfixes.
<peter> I think we could give a 1 viewgraph summary. END
> I think scripts should have their own place on the agenda. END
<silvia> Perfect Carol Anne ! END
<peter> Btw, we do start Thursday afternoon right? END
<njw> Y
> What about: Science results so far; co-ordinate offsets; do these get a little
> time of their own, or are they covered in imaging and other sections listed
> above by Peter? yes, we begin on Thursday after lunch. How quickly can
everyone
> be there? END
<peter> Silvia, Niels Jrgen and me can manage easily early :-) END
<jerome> We 'll arrive together CAO and me.
<silvia> I think that Science results should get a little time of their own !
END
> Sami and Stefan, what's the earliest you can be there? END
<jerome> My I mention that I have seen something strange about the catalog
positions
<larsson> I will arrive the day before. END
<jerome> with "found" source on some annalysis during Cyg-X1 observations END
<smaisala> I think I'll be there before noon. END
> So let's start at 13.00 or 12.30.
> do the coordinate offsets merit their own discussion? END
<peter> I don't think so, tehy should be part of the Imaging discussion. END
> Okay, I'll make an agenda from that items above. I have to leave now, but
> I'll get Jerome to start a log for the net transcript. anything anyone wants
> to say before I leave? END
<silvia> Take care Carol Anne ! see you inn a week ! END
<jerome> Ok. I continue to record the log of this session. END
> See you all in sunny Versoix. Bye! END
<silvia> Do not be so sure, about the sunny Versoix ! END
<peter> OK, shall we continue with the next point: urgent SPRs and SCREWs? END
<peter> I'm waiting for redeliveries of j_ima_shadogram, j_ima_basic_recon,
j_src_spectra and j_src_lc. END
<njw> I'll do most of mine tomorrow and saturday END
<larsson> I was just about to test j_src_lc at ISDC and deliver when I got
Silvias
<larsson> mail about memory.
<peter> To NJW: OK. Stefan - OK, but actually there is no real bug on your side.
 END
<larsson> I reaize now that the huge arrays are for spectra, which I dont use
<larsson> in the _lc version so will take them out before delivery. A few tests
first though.
<larsson> So, src_lc you will get today or tommorow. END
<silvia> How you remove outSrcArf parameter ? END
<larsson> No, I have a hard time to make up my mind abot that one.
<larsson> I will give it another thought... END
<silvia> OK .. Let me know your final thought about it ... END
<larsson> I will (but you should know that nothing is final in this business :-)
 END
<silvia> That is true Stefan, that is true in the ISDC world ! END
<peter> I'd rather get a delivery soon even if you have not made up your mind
fully. END
<larsson> You will. Peter. End
<peter> OK, AI list ...
<peter> AI21.7 NJW Write architectural design for tool to do source finding
on merged/mosaiced images.
<peter> Any news, Niels Jrgen?
<peter> END
<njw> Not really END
<peter> OK, wjhat abut the next one?
<peter> AI21.8 NJW Write architectural design for tool to do robust spectral
classification of found sources END
<peter> Shoudl we just give them new dates? END
<njw> I think so END
<peter> Any realistic proposition? END
<njw> Dec 20, 2002 END
<peter> OK, that sounds good.
<peter> AI22.8 NL,NJW 24/10/02 Make PV phase plan - this one is closed or
normal work by now, I presume. END
<njw> Y
<peter> AI020418_1 ALL 9/12/02 Complete algorithm/limitations/details
description for each component for Masha's UM.
<peter> Have you all done your homework (I haven't)? END
<larsson> Cant say I have. END
<njw> No, I'm afraid END
<smaisala> No END
<peter> Maybe you could try to fill some of the long hours of being at ISDC,
writing some documentation ... END
<peter> We really need it in the new year only, but my experience is also that
starting to write something leads to interesting questions for oneself. END
<peter> Shall we set us a pre-Christams deadline for a first version from
everyone? END
<larsson> Reasonable. END
<njw> OK END
<smaisala> ok
<peter> OK, let's make it Dec 20 as well. END
<jerome> I guess that does not include me... eventhough I'd like to contribute
with something.
<jerome> END
<peter> AI23.3 NJW,SL 9/12/02 Write a section for the ADD and UM explaining
the flux units used for spectra and images
<njw> as before END
<peter> This could actually be done faster, couldn't it? Should not need more
than 1-2 hours in total. what do you think? END
<peter> But we can also put it Dec 20. END
<peter> Jerome, maybe you could have Niels Jrgen explain his algorithms to
you and you then write them up as
<peter> docuemntation. That could be interesting and beneficial for both sides.
 END
<jerome> Yes, why not? That's an idea. END
<njw> I agree fulheartedly END
<larsson> I guess we can use one of those long hours... :-) I'll try tu push
<larsson> it up on my "todo"-list. END
<peter> OK, that was it with the AI's. On to the last item: AOB>
<peter> I have a very important one:
<peter> The SDAST post-launch party to celebrate our scuccess in getting data
analyzed (we do have complete working chains!) and to forget a few hours the
troubles of getting all that really right.
<peter> My proposition is to have a party Thursday evening at the well-known
place in Gland, with wine from my cellar and some not too difficult food.
<peter> Silvia has already offered to help, we were discussing tapas vs.
Spanish omelette and steak.
<njw> I fully backup that proposal! END
<peter> Any propositions from your side?
<jerome> That is definitely a good idea! END
<larsson> Precisely what we need Peter!!! END
<smaisala> This sounds really nice! END
<silvia> OK ! I will trry to cook aa nice Spaniish omelette ! END
<jerome> What about transportation to Gland...? END
<njw> I can give a hand END
<silvia> Niels Joergen, when do you arrive ? END
<larsson> I have two hands! END
<njw> Tomorrow noon END
<silvia> OK ! Perfect ! Have a nice trip ! END
<njw> thanks END
<peter> My new car can squeeze in up to 7 people, let's see: CAO, NJE, JC, SL,
SM, SMN, PK - that could just work.
<peter> Will NL stay around for the SDAST meeting? END
<jerome> Yes actually. END
<peter> (Btwm that should have been NJW above). END
<peter> Then we need to get organized with a short shuttle trip to the train
first. END
<peter> Any more comments from your side? END
<njw> N
<smaisala> N
<larsson> N
<jerome> N
<silvia> No !! See you all next week in the not too much sunny Versoix ! END
<peter> If you feel like it you could also bring some northern specialties
along. END
<jerome> SEE you next week. END
<peter> Stuff that is easy to transported. END
