*** njw (~njw@uhuru.dsri.dk) has joined channel #jemxadr
> Hi NJW, ready to chat? END
<njw> Hello Silvia, yes I'm all set END
<njw> Sorry got the name wrong END

> Absolutely no signs of life from Sami, so I think we can assume he's not
> joining us. END
> Hi Peter and Stefan: let's get started! END
<larsson> Morning everyone. END
<peter> Hi all, nice to 'see' so many of you END
> First on the agenda: ADD7.1 - any glaring errors. It seems as though Sami
> has changed his diagrams round - taken old ones out and put new ones, with
> new names in - I hope I did it all right but I couldn't get hold of him
> to confirm this. Silvia also tells me that the script descriptions are very
> old and need updating, so we'll leave that till version 8.0.
> Soeren wants a review of the document here, though I've not the faintest idea
<peter> A minor note regarding your drawing on p. 28:
> what he has in mind - there's no room for big changes now. Other comments? END
<peter> The scripts are implemented such that the j_bin_spectra/lc tasks _follow
_ the corresponding j_src_extract... tasks.
<peter> Soeren may well review the document again, but thats what he should have
done about 18 months ago or so. END
> Already noted in `Changes for 8.0' document, Peter. Thanks for pointing it out
.END
> Has Tim said anything to you Peter about the CCB requirements for the release
> of ADD7.0. I wrote a SCREW to cover the update, but haven't heard anything
> from him. END
<peter> If he remains quiet, just assume all is fine. The CCB still has to meet
this week. END
> Okay, if no more ADD comments, let's get on to: next SDAST meeting, where when
.END
> I'm opposed to any more travel before the launch - I'd far rather we had a
> meeting in early December when we'll have some real life experience to discuss
> but that's just my view. END
<silvia> I'm with CAO in this point ! END
> We could have a couple of dedicated chat meetings for specific launch related
> topics END
<njw> I think that Carol Anne is right. But then there will be a lot to discuss
<njw> when we finally meet. Also there will be opportunities for at least three
of
<peter> The one problem I have with this is that I do not see how we could all
meet outside ISDC in early December.
*** smaisala (^smaisala@gemini.astro.helsinki.fi) has joined channel #jemxadr
<njw> us to get together in the role of instrument representative - there should
<njw> be some overlap. END
<peter> Some of us will almost surely have to be here. END
> Hi Sami! It's good to have you with us, we're discussing the next SDAST
<smaisala> Hi all. Sorry I'm late. END
<peter> Hi Sami, nice to have you here as well! END'
> meeting; PS - did I get your background figures into the ADD correctly? END
<smaisala> Yes., They are OK :-) END
> So are you suggesting an early October meeting at ISDC, or at Helsinki? END
<silvia> I've a proposal in this point ... It seems that Sami is going to be
include in the personnel rotatiton activities after the launch ... Then why not
meet all at ISDC when he will be there ? END
> When is that exactly NJW? END
<njw> November 13 -22, but Sami has not agreed to this plan yet.
<njw> Have you looked at my proposal for a schedule, Sami ? Any comments ? END
<smaisala> I saw that first plan of the NJW's proposal and I have few problem
days there. (End of December) END
<peter> Good idea Silvia, at worst it could be a bit crowded here. END
<silvia> Thanks Peter ! END
<njw> Sami, what about the November week ? END
> Will we actually have time for a meeting, or will we all just get roped in
<peter> So can we decide? We have a seminar here at 11:30 ... END
> as instrument representative if we go down there then? END
<peter> It could actually be very interesting, let's just make it two days and
be a bit free on what we do when.
<peter> I _do_ hope that the first problems have already been fixed by then. END
<njw> If so then our presence is required and its useful that we are present.END
> How about November 19+20, making it two full days, so we all arrive on the
> 18th - as NJW says, there will be ALOT to talk about. END
<smaisala> I have also problems at 15.11 so I agree November 19+20. END
<silvia> OK with me ! END
> Starting early on the 19th? END
<peter> Fine with me. END
<larsson> Not too happy with that date since I would have to stay
<larsson> very long. I am scheduled for 8-16 nov.
<larsson> I understand it might be hard to make everyone happy
<larsson> but maybe we can look at the dates a little more before
<larsson> we decide ? END
<peter> OK, let's say we agree on the principle (meeting after Nov 15) and
iterate NJW's schedule a bit before we decide the dates firmly.
<smaisala> I agree that. END
<peter> It would be nice to have the meeting in an 'overlap' time between
Instrument Representatives. END
<njw> You are right Stefan, this should coincide with the overlap period
> What about 14+16, arriving on 13th, when both SL and SM are at ISDC? END
<njw> so, as I just saw Peter writing, the schedule can be adapted END
<smaisala> I think I have problem at 15th so we have to discuss about thoe
circulation days.
<njw> I'll make a proposal and send it out after this chat - and get Sami's i
nput END
<larsson> Fine. END
<peter> Very good - btw, if you sent out PDF files instead of .xls I have less
work reading it. END
<njw> Alright, Peter END
> Okay, next point on the agenda: pre-launch activities: still to do? END
> Yes, I know about j_ical Peter, it's coming, it's coming. Anyway how about
> those lightcurve tools and those super-ancient binning tools, aren't they
> far more urgent? END
<njw> I have some updates for the IMOD files END
<peter> Regarding the _lc tools, they are not 100% requirted, but naturally we
want to have them.
<peter> Personally I plan to have mine by the end of this month - and a far
chance of arriving there. Stefan has targeted Sep 13,
<peter> if I remmeber correctly. END
<larsson> You do Peter! END
<peter> What about SPR 1765 on j_cor_gain and 1769 on j_calib_gain_fitting? END
<peter> Btw, that should have been "fair" not "far" chance ... END
> About the SPRs: they're coming etc. etc. END
> I might get them done today, then again, I might not, which means it'll be
> Monday, or some other day........END
> So that's it for pre-launch activities j-ical, -lc tools and a couple of SPRs
> we're in pretty good shape then! END
<larsson> There will also be an update of j_src_spectra next week
> On agenda point 4) NJW's already said he'll get an email to all of you, and
<larsson> to correct a bug in normalization of extracted spectra. END
> when we're agreed about whose in Geneva when, we'll schedule the SDAST meeting
<peter> And I want to include one more functionality in the scripts (user
catalog) END
> So agenda point 5) any other emergency SPRs apart from the two mentioned
above?
> END
<silvia> Peter do you know when will the new cat tool be ready ? END
<peter> It may not need a new tool, but I still need to test if the solution
works as Laurent believes. END
<peter> I'll take this as my problem and do the script changes myself probably.
END
<silvia> Thanks Peter ! END
> So who amongst you is responsible for writing the updated scripts description
> in the ADD? END
<silvia> I promise Peter that I'll take care of jemx_obs_analysis.txt but I
can not do after 12 the Sept. END
<peter> Regarding SPRs: In general all your software works fine and quite a
lot of people have used the scripts and executables successfully here at ISDC.
END
<peter> You mean "before Sep 12" right?
<peter> END
<silvia> I guess the SPR 1717 in Stefan is quite urgent ... because if only
REST data are availbale the pipeline is broken ! END
<peter> For the ADD I could volunteer. END
<silvia> You know, what I mean ??? END
<silvia> I haven't found time to do it this week and than it has to wait until
I' ll set up again in Valencia ! END
<larsson> That (SPR1717) will be solved with next weeks delivery. END
<silvia> than = then !!! END
<peter> Very good, thanks. END
<silvia> Thanks Stefan ! END
> Good, that all sounds very productive. I have one more question for
> Stefan and NJW: are there any hardware expenses here at DSRI that we're going
> to have to meet in connection with the stockholm data repository? END
<larsson> Not as far as I know now. END
<njw> My understanding is that Stockholm University will cover the expenses END
> Thanks Stefan, that's all I needed to know: Allan's planning the computer
<larsson> Yes. END
> department budget this week. END
> I
> Has anyone else got any other business? END
<larsson> Yes lots! (but in other parts of my screen)....END
<smaisala> Nope. END
<peter> Not from me, but how about saying already that we chat again next week
(Silvia exempted)? I may have news for the PV phase etc. END
<njw> Agreed END
* oxborrow Absolutely! We chat next week, come rain or shine! END
<silvia> That's a good idea Peter !!! END
> So let's get down to those critical SPRs and all the rest of it! See you next
> week! END
> Same time for the chat 10.30? END
