Title: Study of Variable non-Blazar Unidentified Gamma-ray Sources in the Galactic Plane

Abstract
We propose INTEGRAL observations of a selected number of time variable unidentified EGRET sources (VUESs)
near the Galactic plane.
Previous CGRO observations of these unidentified gamma-ray sources in the plane
show variability on a timescale of weeks to months. None of the proposed sources are related with obvious
radio-loud blazar counterparts. Our investigation is relevant for the study of a Glactic population of
compact sources as well as for the identification of possible radio-quiet extragalactic sources with time
variable gamma-ray emission.
