Abstract
The proposal aim is to detect and study hard emission from the supernova remnant IC443 interacting with a
molecular
cloud. We argue that a high resolution observation of the remnant by the INTEGRAL IBIS, SPI,} and
{\it JEM-X} would
provide unique information on the structure of the remnant as well as on nonthermal
processes of particle
acceleration and interactions with molecular gas. Our major goals are:
1) Imaging and
spectral study of two localized features of hard X-ray continuum emission of the remnant (recently
resolved
by BeppoSAX MECS at energies below 10 keV) to distinguish the pulsar wind nebula and the shocked
molecular
clump.
2) Studying of hard continuum emission spectrum above 100 keV to extend the CGRO EGRET and
COMPTEL
observations of the object and to constrain the models of particle acceleration in SNRs.
Searching for narrow 511 keV annihilation line emission to constrain the nucleosynthetic yields, the
structure
of the SN ejecta, and conditions in the remnant.
