Animation of Accretion Disk Around Black Hole


The animation, (0.5 MB), shows an accretion disc around a rotating black hole as seen by a distant observer. The observer's position is moved around the two poles. Note how the asymmetrical distortion of the image switches to the other side, depending on the relative direction of the rotation of the black hole to the line-of-sight of the observer.
