LIFT-OFF!
As scheduled, INTEGRAL was launched by a PROTON launcher from Baikonur cosmodrome (Kazakhstan) on 17 October 2002, 04:41 UTC. Click here to see the video (15 Mb mpg file). The PROTON launcher showed a flawless performance and the orbit injection was of highest precision. In the mean time the spacecraft subsystems have been activated and the spacecraft performs exceptionally well. Instrument activation has started as scheduled.
